It's Been a Minute

Well, its fall and life is finally calming down. Somehow, completely unplanned, I ended up with a fairly busy summer that seems to just have flown straight past me. I remember wishing summer would be over fast while I was in the midst of it, but looking back now I can't figure out where it's gone. I spent the majority of my summer reading, listening to podcasts, getting comfortable at my new job and settling into my new home. On top of that I ended up joining my brother in his coffee catering endeavors and really enjoyed getting to work with Lucid Coffee Catering at various weddings in the area.

I've really been enjoying my job and am grateful daily for the opportunity to be in an environment I love, doing work that I care about and having management that cares about my success. I still can't believe that God granted me such a gift; after hearing from many people about their experiences, I'm realizing how special what I have is and that's it's not so common for people to absolutely love their work.

During the summer I also had the opportunity to visit some intriguing places. After coming back from Punta Cana, I thought it would be a while before I got to go anywhere, but lo and behold, for Labor Day weekend I ended up in LA visiting my bestie Sok. She was gracious enough to take me to Disneyland and Laguna Beach despite being absolutely swamped with school work. I absolutely loved Disneyland! The best part of it is the level of emersion- any ride I went on I felt like I was in another place, another time. Although we didn't make it to midnight at the park like we planned, we had the best time ever, and the exhaustion took a while to wear off. Laguna beach was also very dreamy, as we got there early in the morning and had some bomb brunch at a modern chic cafe, then spent the day beach bumming and jumping through waves. LA was definitely a good change of scenery and I'm looking forward to the next time I get to visit again.

I also really enjoyed taking some road trips locally and going to some cool events nearby. While Sok was visiting during the summer, her sister Mary, Sok and I took a little trip down to coastal Yachats and had a grand old time catching baby crabs, wandering through local markets and exploring Devil's Churn.

Spending time with any member of the Four Fair Maidens is always a treat- Mariya, Tanya and I all took a day trip to Vashon Island, and Kat even came to visit us in August!

Well, that's it for my summer update- I have some really awesome things coming up in the next few months that are very exciting for me including a For King and Country concert in Seattle, a birthday beach trip, and oh- Australia in February! Stoked for where life's heading.
