Our family travels to Mexico

Image
Wow, I can’t believe I actually have a free moment to sit down and share with you all a vacation I took over 3 weeks ago.   First things first, praise God I’m officially done with this semester and am now enjoying winter break.   This semester was really demanding and I wrote so many papers I honestly lost track.   Our family flew out of rainy Washington and into sunny Mexico and stayed there over a week.   Our resort was all inclusive and wow, we tried so many good foods, fruits and smoothies...   Every night we went out for dinner at different restaurants located on our resort, including Japanese, Italian, international, Mexican and Brazilian!   We spent much of the days swimming in the warm Caribbean waters, reading books under the sun, snorkeling and exploring.     We also went on two different tours around the area.   One was to Chichen Itza, a place the Mayan people lived and built their pyramids.   It was eye opening to learn so much history about a civilization so lost in

I cannot believe it's the last month of the year already!! This year has flown by way too fast with so many changes that have happened for all four of us!

Be Happy

Image
It's so crazy how so often we plan our happiness for the future and dread the present. The future is bound to have the same kinds of troubles as the present: learn to be happy now.

Hoorah!

I know it has been a while since I've made my presence known on this blog, but in my defense, I haven't even been posting on my own blog. Well, something exciting finally happened so I figured it was time for a post. In June I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Health Studies with a focus on Community Health Education and was completing an internship at Northwest Health Foundation. After my internship ended at the end of August I began to look for a job, and after only 2 interviews, I accepted the Care Coordinator II position with Sea Mar Community Health Clinics! I am so excited for the opportunity and look forward to a new change and working in the field that I went to school for. I am only 2 months shy of being at America's Best for 3 years and am going to miss the team that I work with immensely (especially my most amazing boss ever)! Hooray for new life happenings and looking forward to good things to come. Praisaloojah!  -Vee

Taking a break

Last time I posted something was back in August.   Time has flown since then.   I’ve been so busy with school it’s unbelievable.   Here’s a true story that happened to me over this weekend; I found out I had a 9 page paper due by tonight.   Praise God I was able to sit down and write it all and submit it on time.   It’s amazing how going through school, God gives strength to do these “paper marathons”… oh and I have another paper due Tuesday… I am so grateful for friends and sisters.   Here are a few pictures from last Sunday when we went exploring Reed College.   The buildings and library on campus have so much character, feels like you’re going back in time almost. We also took a challenge to find the most random book in their library and read a page.  Here is one of the books we found:

Wedding

Image
Can't believe it's been almost 2 months since I've been married to Yura!!! So far it's been great and our honeymoon was amazing! Got our wedding pics back already, but still waiting for the video. 😊  Tomorrow is 1 year since Yura proposed! And September 22nd is 2 years since our first date! Time flies way too fast! And God is good! 😊❤️

August already?

We spent the day after the wedding going to the beach to relax and restore our energy.  We went exploring Ecola park at Canon Beach and ended up going off the trail and getting lost in the forest, but we definitely had a lot of fun finding our way back...except for running into a couple spider webs.  We had panini's for dinner and then had a bonfire at the beach and watched the sunset over the horizon.

A Fair Maiden is now married

Image
Looking back at this last weekend, my heart is filled with so much joy for one of our Fair Maidens!  Our dear Mariya married Yura and are now a family!  We spent the days leading up to the wedding at Rodin's house drinking lots of tea, remembering sweet memories from our friendship and blessing Mariya on her new way.  It's amazing to see the hand of God in their relationship and I am so honored to be part of their lives and have their friendship.  Being part of the bridal party was such a privilege and I loved every moment of the day...taking pictures, seeing people happy and of course eating lots of goodies:)  Here are just a few pictures I have from the wedding day.

Can't believe it's been 3 days since my wedding day! The whole day flew by so fast and with no problems except the 104 degree weather! But we fought through it well with the whole bridal party! So happy that we had such a great team!  Here are some iPhone pics 😊❤️

4 days

Wedding day is in 4 days!! Still can't believe it. I don't think I will truly process it until it passes. Trying to stay calm and relax before the day 😁

Cali trip 2015

Image
This year we traveled to California by car that took us about10 hours. My cousin Sara got married last week, July 10th. It was great to be surrounded by many different people that were all mostly my relatives. It was a great day. The next day we went to Six Flags with my cousins! It was a lot of fun and I remember going there with my cousins years earlier. The next day we traveled to Santa Barbara and on our way there we visited Hearst Castle. Such a beautiful place built by a rich newspaper publisher. We finally arrived to the beautiful Santa Barbara and enjoyed the pier and eating with our feet in the sand. The stay was short and would love to some day come back here. We spent 5 days in San Diego specifically near Imperial Beach where we had a condo a block away from the beach. The last couple of days consisted of lots of swimming, tanning, bike riding and eating. It was nice to relax for a bit.
