Indianapolis!
The theme of the conference was “Cry Out”, focusing on our
personal relationship with God and our faith in His plan for our lives, our
futures, our church and our country. We live
in such a time when there is a need to not just pray to God but Cry Out on behalf of ourselves, our
families, the nation and the world. One
specific truth that touched my heart most was the fact that God wants us to Cry Out to Him and that is why He sends
hardships or trials into our lives. His
goal is to draw our attention back to Him by putting us in need or spiritually
causing pain so that we would respond in revival, growth and come back to
Him. Nancy DeMoss mentioned that before
God spoke judgment on His chosen nation by sending them to Babylon, He first called
them to repent and return to Him. He actually
called out 27 times to Israel in hope that they would respond in humility and brokenness! God cares for every one of His children and calls
out for us to return to Him. Salvation is
parallel to every mention of judgment.
God loves to show mercy to those who come to Him needy in spirit. What a timely reminder about the values and
heart of God!
In closing, the time we spent in Indianapolis was very
sweet. All 16 of us explored downtown,
ate out some of our favorite foods like Thai, Chinese, and of course Acai fruit
bowls and crepes. The weather was
amazing, 80-90s, felt like a true summer even in late September. Every evening after the sessions, we would all
come together for fellowship around the table, drinking tea or eating pizza,
sharing how God spoke to us through the messages, then finally heading up to
our rooms by 2AM:)
Here's most of us, sitting on the airplane, waiting to fly out of PDX.
Anna and I love flying and traveling.
